Pizza night, not a takeaway

Same Friday night, a lot more for your money.

A Papi Jim's pizza night

About £8
a night for a family of four*
  • Everyone gets stuck in, from dusting to topping
  • A hands-on activity the whole family can do
  • Just five simple ingredients, nothing artificial
  • A pizza night they ask for again
  • Six nights in the freezer, ready when you fancy it

A Friday takeaway

£25 to £35
for the family, every time
  • Ready at the door, nothing to make
  • One meal, then it is gone
  • Usually the less healthy option
  • Nothing made, nothing to remember
  • It adds up fast, week after week
  • Often lukewarm by the time it arrives

*Based on a 24-pack over 6 pizza nights for a family of four.

Freezer space

Each dough ball is around 12cm wide and 4cm deep. A 12-pack takes up about a quarter of a standard drawer in a 50/50 fridge freezer.

Most families have room without a big reshuffle.

Your 6-step guide

From freezer to table, the whole thing.

1

What to do first

Freeze what you're not using today. Keep the rest covered so they don't dry out.

2

Defrost

Leave at room temperature for 5 to 7 hours, until soft and a little bigger.

3

Magic Pizza Dust

Sprinkle plenty on the surface and the dough, and coat both sides well.

4

Make your crust

Press from the middle outwards with your palm, leaving a gap for the crust.

5

Stretch the base

Drape it over your knuckles and slowly stretch, to just bigger than an adult's hand.

6

Top and bake

Add sauce, cheese and toppings, then bake as hot as your oven goes until golden.

Simple ingredients

Just flour, water, salt, yeast and olive oil. Nothing artificial, and nothing you wouldn't already have in your own kitchen.

Easy to work with, and very forgiving of little hands that are still learning.

Questions, answered

How long does it keep and how do I store it?

Your dough arrives semi-frozen. Freeze whatever you're not using today. When you're ready, defrost at room temperature until soft and use within 24 hours. Don't refreeze once defrosted.

What if it arrives damaged?

If your order turns up damaged or in poor condition, we'll replace it. No argument. Email jim@papijimspizza.com with your order number and a photo. See our delivery info for more.

What are the allergens?

Contains wheat (gluten). May also contain soya and mustard. Full details on our Allergen Information page.

Does it work in a normal oven?

Yes. A regular kitchen oven is absolutely fine, as hot as it will go. A pizza oven works too if you have one, but you don't need one.
